Artist Donna Underwood
I allow art to realize its purpose through me. I am now on a path, it has
been a long journey. In 2000, I decided to burn my art and trash my art supplies. I
found a box of brand new oil pastels in my studio. I decided to give painting one last chance. An end is a new
beginning. I have never looked back. Old ways of painting gave way to new ways. I grab any brush and any color, it doesn't
matter, technique and methods, they don't matter, what matters is that I just do it.
I am on a path beyond time and my story is told by my art. I begin with
no preconceived ideas and I rely on instinct. I paint to uncover the abstract content of the unexplained, the seen and
the unseen; I discover a new realm, its beauty, its glory, its excitement, and its horrors; it all comes out.
My soul is inside out. I am free. I found my bliss in the process.
